History: | Here in Australia we are known for bringing the two together in a blend, commonly referred to as the “Classic White” wine blend. Sauvignon Blanc is a green skin grape, and it is believed to take its name from two French words – Sauvage – meaning “wild” and Blanc meaning “white”. Less is known about Semillon, a golden skinned grape with it first being introduced into Australia in the early 19th Century, where it became synonymous with the Hunter Wine Region. |
