This 2022 Rose, made from our Nebbiolo grapes is a special release to commemorate our gorgeous Jasper, who passed away in May 2021, at the age of 15.
He is remembered as the Chief Concierge at the Vineyard 28 Cellar Door, as he loved meeting and greeting humans and dogs alike. He loved vintage time with the crew, especially the morning tea. Jasper was a much-loved family member and brough much laughter and joy into our home.
Gorgeous salmon pink in colour with hints of strawberries on the palate. Luscious and refreshing, with a hint of spritz.

| Winemaking: | Our Nebbiolo grapes were picked and crushed and then left on skins for approx. 4 hours with gentle mixing. They were then left in the cool room till pressing (16 degrees C) The juice was softly pressed to minimise extraction. It then settled in tank for 48 hours (12 degrees C) before being racked. Yeast was added and ferment controlled at 13-16 degrees C till ferment was complete. The tank was then closed off and cooled to 14 degrees C and left on lees for 6 weeks. |
| History: | Rose is perhaps one of the oldest types of wine, dating back to Ancient Greece. Over the centuries it became a simple, unfussy wine to drink while cooking or as a chilled wine in Summer to relax with. The wine is typically labelled rosé but is also called Rosado in Spain and Rosato in Italy. The colour and flavour of a rose depends on what grapes are used to make it. |
