Recent Review from Casey at Travelling Corkscrew
I love tasting wines side by side as even though they might be the same grape varietal, each wine has its own uniqueness. I picked up these bottles of Arneis (Italian white grape variety) at the Vineyard 28 cellar door just off Old Coast Highway heading south from Perth. Approx $20 per bottle.
2013: Light yellow colour with green highlights. Aromas of freshly cut grass, hints of honey and pears. On the palate it’s fresh and refreshing with crisp flavours of grapefruit, licks of nuts and a touch of palm sugar fruity sweetness.
2014: Lighter in colour, more straw-like. Aromas of lime, apricots and a bouquet of fresh flowers. On the palate it’s full and rich with hints of mango, orchard fruits and again nuttiness comes through to entice the palate.
I really enjoyed these wines, my taste buds lent more towards the 2014 however I have to admit a glass of each is the way to go (that way it’s educational right – it’s a wine tasting!) #TCWeekdayWine.
Mark & Pippa of Vineyard 28 were very pleased to receive not only the Agribusiness Award, sponsored by WFI, this year, but to also come Runner Up in the Micro Business Category as well. The Small Business Awards were held at the Lighthouse Beach Resort in Bunbury on Saturday the 27th June 2015. These awards provide a great opportunity for us to benchmark the performance of our business against other small businesses in the South West, and allow us to celebrate our achievements to date.
