Yvonne Chapman – “True Blue Mates”
Congratulations to Yvonne Chapman our resident artist, on her honourable mention received for her entry “True Blue Mates” in the 2015 Australasian Quilt Challenge. Announced late last week in Melbourne. Yvonne finished in the top 4 with this piece, and has also received the Viewers Choice Award at the 2015 Australasian Quilt Challenge for this quilt. It will be touring Australia for the next year, but should be back in Western Australia in time for the Annual Quilt Exhibition at Vineyard 28. Vineyard 28 – Yvonne Chapman a Finalist
Vineyard 28 is pleased to announce that its talented resident artist, Yvonne Chapman, has been selected as a finalist in the 2014 Australasian Quilt Challenge (AQC).
The annual AQC Challenge is a themed competition open to all. Quilts must be 125cm square and show interpretation of the theme – in 2014 the theme is ‘TEN’. This year the entries were received from every state in Australia as well as New Zealand and Canada.
The finalists work will be on display at the Australasian Quilt Convention in Melbourne in April this year.
Yvonne has entered a piece titled “Hang Ten – the perfect wave”. “Hang Ten” is a popular surfing term, and Yvonne took her inspiration from this and decided to do a quilt that represents the surfing culture in Australia. Vineyard 28 is having its annual quilt & craft show on Thursday 12th December until Sunday 22nd December 2013.
This show is a great opportunity to visit Vineyard 28′s beautiful cellar and admire some great quilts and craft work on display.
