Vineyard 28 is pleased to announce that its talented resident artist, Yvonne Chapman, has been selected as a finalist in the 2014 Australasian Quilt Challenge (AQC).
The annual AQC Challenge is a themed competition open to all. Quilts must be 125cm square and show interpretation of the theme – in 2014 the theme is ‘TEN’. This year the entries were received from every state in Australia as well as New Zealand and Canada.
The finalists work will be on display at the Australasian Quilt Convention in Melbourne in April this year.
Yvonne has entered a piece titled “Hang Ten – the perfect wave”. “Hang Ten” is a popular surfing term, and Yvonne took her inspiration from this and decided to do a quilt that represents the surfing culture in Australia. More information is available about the Challenge, and you can see the other entrants on the AQC Website.
